Student Deals of the Month

Learning to drive is an exciting time. The idea of not having to rely on anyone for lifts and having the freedom to go and see whom and whatever you like is a great one. However before you can start your driving lessons you need to hold an up-to-date learners permit. You can't take any driving lessons without it so its vital that you get one. Find out more...

Any learner driver who was issued an Irish learner permit on or after the 4th April 2011 has to, by law, complete 12 Essential driver training (EDT) driving lessons. But the EDT program isn't as simple as taking 12 driving lessons and hoping you're ready to pass your driving test. Find out what you really need to know about the EDT here...

So you have your driving test coming up and you're scared. Scared of failing or forgetting simple things or scared of your nerves getting the better of you. Our revolutionary pretest driving lessons packages have been designed to help you overcome all of these fears, to show you the current test routes and to help you understand how the tester thinks and see things...

Having a number of ex-driving testers at the RSA Driving School is an added plus for our pupils as they can show during each lesson exactly what the tester is looking for giving you the very best of both worlds and at the same price.

The Introduction of Essential Driver Training

In April 2011 the new initiative of graduated licensing for learner drivers commenced in Ireland with the introduction of the EDT (Essential Driver Training). As of the 4th of April 2011 the EDT will require all learner drivers wishing to sit their driving test to obtain a certificate from their registered RSA instructor. This certificate can be signed off in effect after 12 one hour lessons have been taken following a specific driving syllabus. Akin to that the RSA stipulate that these 12 lessons be taken during a six month period (one lesson every 2 weeks) during which the test can not be sat.
